Caldesi

Giancarlo and Katie Caldesi own and run Caffe Caldesi, a successful Italian restaurant in Marylebone, London, as well as one in Bray, Caldesi in Campagna. They also run one of London's best cookery schools La Cucina Caldesi, also based in Marylebone. A true family-run business, all the restaurants offer authentic, regional Italian dishes accompanied by a traditionally warm Italian welcome. 

Giancarlo launched Caldesi Restaurant in 1993 before meeting Katie with whom he went on to launch Caffe Caldesi, a regional Italian café and restaurant. In 2005, following years of hosting cookery classes in their restaurant kitchens, they launched La Cucina Caldesi - a state of the art cookery school where they hold classes in Italian cuisine for all ages and abilities. Caldesi in Campagna launched in Bray as a 60-cover restaurant in Autumn 2007. The restaurant serves rustic Italian cooking, focussing on regional dishes and specialities inspired by Head Chef Gregorio Piazza's Sicilian heritage.

Every year Giancarlo and Katie Caldesi take over a hotel in Tuscany to run a residential cookery school. In 2005 their school was filmed for a BBC2 documentary series entitled "Return to Tuscany". This year, the first course will run from Sunday 19^th until Saturday 25^th July and the second from Sunday 26^th July to Saturday 1^st August at Hotel Rotelle in Tuscany.
